Brights are back!
Summer and bright nails go hand in hand, who doesn’t love to flash their fresh mani – pedi with a beaut colour pop shade.
So I decided to try out the new Barry M Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint in the summer bright shade of Flip Flop.
These new polishes have been created with a blend of coconut water and coconut oil to help hydrate and nourish nails, whilst looking seriously glossy like a set of fresh gels.
So I have decided to put the paint to the test!
Most nail polishes that attempt to imitate that high shine, long lasting gel effect, they tend to be extremely thick and this can often result in super tricky application.
The polish did glide on to the nails as smooth as you’d expect, and had a nice semi-thick square brush. But unfortunately this polish was no different to typical gel imitations, the thick consistency made it difficult to get a nice even coat without looking gloopy.
The finished look was one of a high shine and did look like a fresh set of gels. However after 1 day I had chips! I mean no one expects a normal nail polish to last 2 weeks, but 2 days at the very least.
The colour is great, it’s bright and exactly what you would want from a summer polish. However the coconut infusion is something which went seriously unnoticed, it’s unclear how many times you would have to use one of the Barry M Coconut Infusion nail paints for it to take effect, but it’s safe to say after my 1 day of chip free nails I noticed no coconut oil nourishment.
All in all, the colour is great, it leaves a nice high shine finish, but doesn’t last longer than a day, it’s a thick consistancy and the coconut infusion was unnoticeable. This polish comes in at £4.99 and I personally will be sticking to my standard nail polishes!
Let me know if you’ve tried out the Barry M Coconut Infusion collection and tell me what you thought!
